Englewood resident and violinist Alan Long founded the South Suburban Community Orchestra in the fall of 1994. His goal was to establish an amateur orchestra that would offer local musicians of all ages and abilities an outlet for musical expression. It was Alan's dream to build the orchestra into a real asset for the south suburban community. The South Suburban Community Orchestra provides an opportunity for musicians to play a wide variety of orchestral music in an easy going, fun atmosphere. Our musicians include adults of all ages, including some high school students. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Valor Christian High School, 3775 Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
The South Suburban Community Orchestra has been established to promote, develop, encourage and stimulate educational music programs and provide an opportunity for amateur musicians to play orchestral music in the southern suburban communities of the Denver Metropolitan area.
